The story goes something like this: Ed Calderon, when flying to a self-defense training event, wouldn’t bring a knife, instead opting to purchase a new knife at his final destination. What knife did he buy, you ask? A basic paring knife for around $10, because sometimes fancier and more expensive isn’t the answer. Ed claimed this little paring knife was an excellent tactical blade; not long after, he worked with TOPS to bring a non-disposable, premium equivalent to his eager fans.
