Peltonen M23 Ranger Cub The Peltonen M23 Ranger Cub takes everything that makes the original Ranger legendary and packs it into a more compact, streamlined form. Built for demanding users who need a lighter, more maneuverable knife without compromising strength, the Ranger Cub is every bit as durable, formidable, and reliable as its full-sized predecessor. At the heart of the M23 Ranger Cub is an 80CrV2 carbon-steel blade, a favorite among professional outdoorsmen for its exceptional toughness, edge retention, and resilience under hard use. The blade’s Scandi grind offers superb control for carving, bushcraft, and general utility tasks, while the natural finish adds corrosion resistance and a rugged, field-ready aesthetic. From frozen forests to wet, rocky terrain, this blade is built to keep cutting. This knife carries the design DNA of J-P Peltonen, a respected Finnish designer and former military officer known for creating blades trusted by soldiers, hunters, and survivalists across Scandinavia. Peltonen’s philosophy is simple: no-nonsense tools that perform in the harshest conditions. The M23 Ranger Cub embodies that ethos, drawing on decades of real-world field experience. The handle is made from TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer), a material chosen for its excellent shock absorption, weather resistance, and slip-resistant texture. It stays grippy in rain, cold, and even with gloves on—ideal for the unpredictable environments the knife is built to conquer. Whether you’re trekking deep into the woods, setting up camp, or working through tough bushcraft tasks, the Peltonen M23 Ranger Cub delivers full-size performance in a handier, more compact package. It’s a knife you can trust when the elements turn unforgiving.
